Julia Simon, Administrative Director
Julia comes to UT as a graduate student in the College of Education, pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Learning Technologies. Previously, she worked at EAB in Washington, DC serving in a variety of roles including Member Support Analyst and Business Analyst in the higher ed technology space. In these roles, Julia managed 15+ technical implementations, interfaced with clients, and generally enabled more students to succeed in college (and beyond!).
Julia is passionate about project and information management, empowering individuals through technology, adult education, and connecting to the Jewish community. She completed a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University, where she co-coordinated her senior class fundraising efforts, including a campaign with GW Hillel that continues to run today.
Julia moved to Austin in February 2017 to be closer to family and to prepare for graduate studies. She is excited to find a place in the Austin Jewish world and is already a member of YAD Austin and YJP Austin.
Selah Maya Zighelboim, Communication Coordinator
Selah Maya recently graduated from UT with a Bachelor's of Journalism, a Spanish minor and a Certificate in Digital Art and Media. During her time at UT, she interned in the communication offices of the McCombs School of Business and the aerospace engineering department, as well as at the Texas Observer. She also worked on the staffs of The Daily Texan and ORANGE Magazine, two student-run publications. In these positions, she wrote articles, edited and published stories, photographed, and shot and edited video.
As a native Austinite, Selah Maya is familiar with what the Austin Jewish community has to offer for both families and students. She was involved with Jewish student life at UT, where she started a book club for Jewish students and ran the Texas Hillel blog as part of the Texas Hillel Marketing Committee.
Outside of work, Selah Maya can be found attending events at Moishe House and YJP, going to writing meetups and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
